The company I work for is moving from a Novell domain to a Win2K domain. I copied a database named “sales” from the Novell file server to the Win2K file server. I gave our users access to the file. When the users open Access and browse to sales folder it opens fine. The problem arises when they try to generate a report in Access, it gives the following error:
“Can’t update. Database or object is read-only”
I checked User and Group Permissions and the settings are identical to the way the settings are for the users who are still on the Novell domain. The users on the Novell domain have no problem generating the report. I have a feeling the it has something to do with the Design Master still being on the Novell domain that is causing this, but I am not sure. Any suggestions?
