Locked

Access 97 Error 3186

By arotondi ·
I can't seem to get rid of this error. The database is "shared". All of the tables, queries, etc. have no locks on the RecordLock property. Have tried playing with the settings on the advanced tab of the options/tools with no avail.

The person locking doesn't even have to be adding a record for it to lock, they just have to be in the database.

Help?

Look at Q122958, even though it talks about Visual Basic, I believe that it applies. Specifically, look at the first paragraph of the More Info section.

In Access help, read the section on LockEdits Property. You probably have pessimestic locking set, which means that you are locking a 2K block whenever you look at a record.

Good luck.
