Access/administer other's address book

By comesjf ·
Is it possible for an admin assistant to administer another Notes R5 user's personal address book? The address book is located on the R5 client's laptop. She can access his mail, calendar and to do list (all part of the mail.nsf file) but not the address book.

Access/administer other's address book

I can only answer for Notes R4 (R5 upgrade here is busy, has not reached our department yet). The book is in names.nsf, which is different from the names.nsf on the central Notes server (the complete address book).
I'd say:
Yes, IF you can tune your setup so that
* The 'personal' addressbook is also stored on a Notes server with a distinguished/special name, and is replicated to the laptops version just as is being done with the mail.nsf
* The names.nsf gets an ACL allowing these things to the assistant. The less difficult of the two challenges I guess.

For R4 I'd see the central names.nsf as a difficult (but not impossible) challenge, I presume with R5 it must have been made a bit easier.

At your service,

Nor should she be able to. That's why it's called a personal address book...
