I have a user who can no longer get into a critical network database following his PC crashing.
The database is fine – all other users can get in, and he can do so also from another machine.
Also, he can get into other databases OK, so the problemis very MACHINE/DATABASE specific.
The error that is received (as soon as the database starts to open) is one of the record being in use by another person (which is not true).
I think what is happening is his system is trying to restore his state when it crashed, where he was updating or accessing the database.
I have scoured the registry for references to the database, and deleted the only one I found (which I belive was simply a historical reference).
If anyone can enlighten me on a fix for this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your efforts,
Alan
