Access Datasheet Find Record

Which event to I place the code in, for a form in datasheet view, so that when a user dbl-clicks the area it will open a new form to that item.

there's the dblclick event procedure and the click event procedure. to open a new form, you can use the docmd.openform <formname> method.

The DoCmd as described in answer #1 will work. It may be useful to add a button and add with the wizard the action open a form. This will generate the code as desired. You may need some filter. This can also be incorporated in the wizard, showing you the required code.
That code you add to the double click event.
