Access denied message

By stuart.douglas ·
I've got a Windows 2000 SP-2 which logs onto the domain. When I log on using an account with administrative privileges and try to do certain features a message pops up saying something along the lines that I don?t have the correct access rights. If I log off the pc and log into it locally as an administrator everything is ok. I?ve checked all the security settings under gpedit.msc and cant see anything obvious. Help

You do not have the correct rights on the server for that user. Sometimes the administrator is just not enough rights when logging on to a domain.

If this is only happening on one machine, then I would check the policy on the server for that machine. If this occurrs for all machines using the administrator account, I would check the policy applied for the Admin Account. It sounds like it some sort of restrictions on that account.

Check to see that the Domain Admins Group in AD are part of the local Administrators Group
