Access denied, password protected usb

By asicstri ·
We have two public computers at work labeled user1 and user2, with an admin account on each. Someone tried to print a file from their thumb drive and was denied access to it with the message something about needing to be logged in as an admin. His drive was password protected. I tried my thumb drive, which is not password protected and I was able to access the drive fine. I took his drive and plugged it into my machine and was able to access the drive (with password).

Can someone explain what is going on here?

thanks.

I have a Lexar secure drive and when you plug it in loads the software for the drive on the computer then you can log into the drive.
What type of thumb drive is it? If he still has the instructions or go to the makers website and see if you can down load and install the secure software.
Go to Lexar's website and you can see how they do it.
