Access/Excel query

By edmond_sng ·
I am trying to run a Query on Access or create formula in Excel which will calculate Length of Time for Response:

Deadline: 01/04/02
Response: 05/04/02

Length of Time for response: 5 days

What criteria will I need to set in Access or if I analyze it with Excel - what formula would I use to calulate this? The format of the dates are set as above.

Thanks for your help. This will help me to write up a report.

In Excel, there is a formula called DAYS360 in the Date & Time function catagory that will give you elapsed days between 2 dates. The only drawback is that it uses 12 30 day months for a total of 360 days/year instead of the standard calendar.

I'm not aware of this calculation in Access.

Here are two sites that have all the information you'll need to calculate dates and times.

For Access:

www.mvps.org/access/tocurl.htm#Date/Time

For Excel:

www.cpearson.com/excel/datetime.htm#TOC
