Access/MSQuery/Excel ODBC

By pupstwo ·
I've lost my option for importing an Excel spreadsheet in Access. The only options I have are: Access, Exchange, ODBC.
And...my ODBC doesn't work either so I figure there is something amuck w/ MS Query.
I have uninstalled Access completely & re-installed (using install, not repeat installation).
The options for Excle are grayed out saying already installed.
I'm obviously missing something.
The other PC's in office are ok.

Access/MSQuery/Excel ODBC

by Volksjager In reply to Access/MSQuery/Excel ODBC

Hi

I have had a similar ODBC problem in the past. To fix this I reinstalled the MDAC components from Microsoft. Version 2.5 is now available. Once this had installed I rebooted and everything was fine.

Hope this helps

Joe

I can't tell for sure if you have tried this:

go back into MS Office Setup, and choose add/remove. On the Microsoft Office - Maintenance screen, select "Data Access", then click on "change option" button.

Then choose "database drivers" and click on "change option". Verify that the Microsoft Excel Driver has a checkmark.

Sorry if this is what you were referring to as "grayed out" before.
