Access OLE link to Excel

I have a user that wants an Access (2K) table to be updated any time a row is added to an Excel spreadsheet. Add a row to Excel, have a row added to an Access table with some of the data from Excel. Cascading changes on update to Excel would be nice, but is not required. Has anyone done such a thing?

You can Link to an external Excel table. Changes in Access will change the spreadsheet and the other way around. Choose Table>New and Link.

Tried that approach, unfortunatly the Excel sheet cannot (political, not technical reasons) be modified to add the additional fields that are added to the Access table.

How about linking and then combining both tables with a query?
