You can make a network boot floppy disk that will allow you to boot up to DOS, connect to the network and then install the basic DOS files necessary to connect to the LAN from your workstation hard drive. The easiest way to make a network boot diskis to go to your NT server, make sure the Clients folder is installed and shared, and then use the Network Installation Manager to make a boot disk. There are several MS Knowledgebase articles that describe in detail how to do this - it's too complicated for this forum. You can look them up on the CDs (if you have them) or go to the microsoft.com/technet web site and search the knowledgebase there. Hope this helps!

Yes, you can do it! You have to create an NT Network boot disk. As a start, you can go this link:

http://www.i386.com/admin/netboot/steps.htm

It will show you hot to create NT network boot disk. And for more info on creating boot disk, go to bootdisk.com.

Enjoy!

Hi!

If I understand correctly, your system has a hard disk with command.com (DOS) installed. If this si true then you do not need to boot from the network. You only need to install Lan Manager for Dos and you will be able to share files on the network.
