ACCESS Sub forms not functioning

By cybermorello ·
We recently converted to Office 2000 Premium SR1 and now some of our subforms are not functioning in a small database originally created in Access 97. Anyone have any thoughts?

Not enough info.
What are the symptoms?? Are they not visible at all? Have you checked relationships and Linkings??
I assume you kept a copy of the original 97 version. You open it without converting and check all the settings for your Tables,forms,events,etc..
Can't help more without more info. sorry..

Can't tell the exact error you are getting from your question. Two things that come to mind one,if this is a network that the database is on you may have had a user with the forms open at the time of conversion, and the directory and names had to be changed when the conversion was made, the extensions need to be changed to complete, the conversion in WIN2K

A possible answer might be that one of the field or object names that was used in the subform may have worked fine in Access 97, but it may have become a reserved word in Access 2000.

Another thing you might look at is Access2000 runs on ADO, whereas Access 97 utilizes DAO. Often times I have problems bringing a 97 mdb over to 2000. One fix is to open the DB in 2000,and go to the Visual Basic Editor under the Tools/Reference dropdown menu add the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library. This allows a DAO database to function in the ADO environment.
