Access user folder on old hard drive that had a password

by joshuakmbl . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

My friend’s hard drive was not booting up anymore (XP). We even tried to do a repair to the current Windows folder w/ the disc but it would freeze up. So we installed a new hard drive and kept the old one out while installing windows so the new drive would be the c: drive. After the install was complete I connected the old drive as the slave. We are able to access most of the files but the files that are in the Documents and Setting folder are not accessible because it says we have no rights. How can we get around that so he can get his .jpg and .mp3, etc. files? He had a password to get into his computer with his old drive.
