Access Windows Server 2003 share from Windows Vista Ultimate

By dvillarjr ·
Hi, We have 1 windows server 2003 with a shared folder and 10 pcs running windows xp sp2 and 2 laptops running vista ultimate sp1. All 10 pcs running xp have no trouble accessing our winserver 2k3. the problem is with our 2 laptops w/ vista ultimate. It cannot find our server in the network and vice versa. I have tried the solution given by Jabez Gan from
but still does not work.
Is there any way that I could remedy this?
thnx in advance

Ping - FQDN

by Wizard-09 In reply to Access Windows Server 200 ...

Can you ping the server from the workstation having the problems, can you ping by IP or FQDN.

Can you do a \\IPADDRESS\C$ < If not what error message comes up >

Are the laptops or workstations on the domain or joining the domain right. Do you have a computer account for the laptops workstation in AD?
