Access2000 ‘Network connection may have been lost’ following copying of a form from one Access Database to another (with same field tables).
I have Windows 2000 and Access 2000 and have been running over our networks without such a problem for ‘years’. We patch Windows as and when available. Some users have Windows XP but all development is done on a Win 2000 computer. This is not the same problem as losing connectivity – it appears to be in the vb coding. At one stage the error tried to tell me it couldn’t locate the module! I hadn’t got any modules (at all) in this particular program.
I have nearly five years invested in this Patient Record System and am soon to migrate to SQL. I’d like to think I can continue to develop for a few months yet but am now very nervous about continuing, being sure to keep version backups as I should. Any ideas or pointers would be very welcome. If I do get to fix this bug on my development computer, could it perhaps raise its ugly head on a users unfixed computer? There are about 1000 machines out there. Quite a task.
