Accessing a protected folder

By VI-Tech ·
Here's the situation:

I have a drive that would not boot to windows xp, it keeps giving me read errors. I took the drive and put it in another PC and put it as a slave so I could back it up.(done that) Now I am able to see my files on the disk and I am trying to access my folder but it wouldn't let me. It says," access denied". Is there any solutions for me to get to my files?

Who is the owner the file/directory?

I have have user change the permission on a directory that only they had access to.
You might had to have them log on to the machine if you can not change the permissions

Hope this helps

Good Luck

If this is your personal machine just make sure the profile name on the computer you plugged the hard drive in is the same name listed in the security properties for the files you need.

Go to;en-us;303248
Then set the permissions to the administrator or everyone, or create a new account for yorself then set permissions to that account, you sould then have access to the files , if more info required just add a comment to your question.
