I have 2 hard drives from computers that have both recently had issues with the motherboard. Both running XP Home, I have purchased a new computer running Vista basic, and a rocket fish external hard drive enclosure. Both user accounts on the hard drives are password protected, and I cannot access any of the information on them when plugging them into the new computer. I have tried several things to change the owner of the drives and set the permissions to the new user account for the new computer. Nothing has worked thus far. Does anyone have any other ideas or information on how to either access the password protected information, or remove the password all together? Thank You!!!
