Accessing Intranet Forms

After configuring new Dell workstations with Windows 2000, Office 2000, and the many service packs and fixes, when we attempt to access any Word 97 form on our intranet, two Word applications open simultaneously. When you attempt to close one of the Word applications, both of them close.

We recently upgraded many of our HP Windows 2K Prof. workstations from Office 97 to 2000, although we do not have this problem. Even when we attempted to install Office 97 and then upgrade the software to Office 2000 on the Dell workstations, we still encounter this issue. We have installed all service packs and many fixes, and have even upgraded the browser to IE 6.0., although this issue still occurs.

Any ideas?
