Accessing Oracle Databases from Offshore.

By kpur ·
We have to provide the PORT numbers of our system placed in offshore office (IP Addresses) to access Oracle instances from (xxxx). It is understood from Network Admin that we have Dynamic IP Address from ISP where we cannot have any dedicated IP for each system, as such we have to give Client team with the range of IP addresses.

Accessing Oracle Databases from Offshore

by jlouis45 In reply to Accessing Oracle Databas ...

This activity does not require you to provide your IP address. Instead ask your client to provide the login details username / password, server address, database name to login. With this information you can login to oracle database. This holds good if you are on the same network as your client. If you are outside the network then you can still provide your current ip address to the client for access. The ip address normally will not change though it is dynamic unless your netadmin keeps changing the ports everyday.

Hope this answers your question.

If the IP address changes inconveniently....

Consider getting a dynamic IP domain name. The IP address will have to be automatically updated to the service provider.

DynDNS, No-IP, etc.
