ACCESSING OUTLOOKX ON MAIN FROM CLIENT

By mrdpd441 ·
I HAVE SET UP A PEER TO PEER NETWORK THRU A HUB ON 2 NEW COMPUTERS, BOTH WITH WINDOWS XP. I SET UP THE CONNECTION TO OUR DIAL UP INTERNET SERVICE ON THE MAIN COMPUTER USING THE XP WIZARD, AND CAN ACCESS THE INTERNET ON THE CLIENT COMPUTER THUR THE MAIN. I AM ABLE TO SHARE FILES AND FOLDERS. WHAT I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO IS ACCESSING ONLY THE OUTLOOK EXPRESS ON THE MAIN COMPUTER FROM THE CLIENT SO I CAN MANAGE MY EMAIL FROM BOTH, IF THIS IS POSSIBLE.

What you can do is create a share on the main computer for the folder were OUTLOOK.PST is located on the main computer. Map a drive from the second computer to that share. Configure outlook on the second computer to use outlook.pst
from the share. However, you will not be able to open outlook from both computers at the same time.

The answer to this is that outlook express can not be set up to pick up on a network. The best way to do this is to use outlook and then have a shared area on 1 of the PC's to store the PST file. you can connect the 2 PC's to the same PST file and therefpre sent and recieve from either.
