I’m writing some specialized software apps for a Home builder. I need to integrate them with an accounting package, but I’d like more functionality than just dumping the data in it after I’m done with it. If, for example, the accounting package exposed the functionality of generating a Purchase Order, and I could manipulate it programmatically from my app, that would keep me from having to re-write that code. I could just use what’s already there. The company is a “production” home builder, meaning they are one of these that go buy land and build a subdivision. They have, over the years developed their own way of doing things, hence my custom apps. Any input is greatly appreciated. I need to find the accounting package I can tightly integrate with.
