Accounts expire before expiration date

By patrickmckeee ·
All my user acounts that are set to expire, do so as soon as they are created. It does not matter what the date to expire is set to. Also, all external user (At other sites) that are set to expire are denied access to resources with a msg. that their account has expired, even though they are logged on in another site.

anything in the event log on the primary dc?
as bfilm says we don't have even close to enuf to go on, sorry. you have how many servers etc? presumably it is nt4 yes? (yuk.) if so, i would try (re)applying sp6 to the dc. see this article at support.microsoft.com for something that sounds like your symptoms: Account Lockouts and 5711 Events on the PDC

This was not helpful at all. I can't just "throw" 2000 or 2003 server on my servers.

the only accounts that are having problems are the ones that are set to expire in the future. There is nothing in the logs of the bdc's or pdc in regards to this problem unless the person has logged on at another site and trying to access resources at my site. Then they are denied and given the msg that password has expired and this shows up in my logs. If they are logging on from my site they get the same error; however it does not show up in my logs. right now I have removed the expiration check in user mgr and it works fine. If you can't help Mr shultz then post somewhere else.
