Acer AL1721 jittering screen

By bldsm ·
Hi

I have a Acer AL1721 15" flat screen monitor hooked onto an older Win98 PC. The screen starts jittering after a few minutes and the only way to stop it is to reboot the PC or change the screen resolution 5 times in a row. There are no Win98 drivers, only Win XP. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this problem.

Thanks
Bruce

Firstly test the monitor on a different computer running XP just to make sure that it doesn't have a fault. If it doesn't work properly RMA it to ACER for Repair/Replacement as necessary.

If it works properly on an XP machine you'll need to have a look at your Video Card Make sure that the latest drivers are installed and if that doesn't work you will passably need to change it out for something bigger in capacity if possible.

LCD's like to work on their native resolution, anything upper than that and they start to behave wierd.

Also make sure you don't have a refresh rate set to high.
