I kind of gave up on my brothers Aspire a long time ago but yesterday I got some light on the subject. I learned many people have this problem but first I thought it was the screen(The computer would turn on but the screen would not show). Yesterday I turned it on and to my amazement it started up fine, loaded my os but when I tried to type or move the mouse or anything it would not respond. I have taken everything out, switched the memory to the second slot, nothing is working. Please help.
Some questions answered about the computer in question:
Are you running XP ?
-Was, but it started crashing so I installed ubuntu but could never get a wifi signal.
When did the problem start ?
-Almost half a year ago I think now.
What was the last thing you were doing ?
-To my knowledge I think I was listening to music on my external hdd on it.
Has the system suffered any crash ?
-Yes while on XP, no for the short time it had ubuntu.
Has the system been dropped or suffered trauma ?
-Not to my knowledge.
