Acer Aspire One Startup Problem!

By mohajon ·
Dear all,

Am so frustrated with this! This is what I get when I turn on my netbook:

Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation

For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v1.0.0.13(2008/10/15)

Check cable connection..!
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key.

Anyway, I've tried fiddling around with the BIOS, but the problems doesn't go away... I have to submit a number of MAJOR assignments & all my work is on the net book. So any help would be seriously appreciated folks!

Sounds as if the HDD has failed

You'll need to check what you actually have in this NetBook and work from there.

It may be something as simple as the Storage Device has been dislodged or it may be suffering a complete failure.

Either way you need to dismantle the NetBook remove the storage Device and recover what you can from it.

Connect is to you wired connection, from you router. Disconnect the battery, while the ac adapyer is connected, and plugged in. Pull the plug. Wait a second, and plug the ac adaper back in. Press the on switch. Press F8 repeatedly during power up. If you get to the screen where you have a choice, scroll down to "last good condfiguration".
I have an aspire one, and that woerked for me. You need to get rid of a driver and reinstall it, or there is a loose connection on the wireless card adapter.
