This annoyance has been a bother for over a year. I must find a way to fix! Have an AcerView F51 flat panel monitor that does not display the startup or shutdown splash screens. This also means that I can not see bios screen or command prompt in full screen mode. If I hook up a regular crt all is fine. I have updated drivers but no difference. What I have: Clone pc 650 amd on Win98 se plus. Using Ati card with 32 meg. It used to work on old Clone 200mhz machine, then one day it stopped. When Iinstalled on new 650 machine it did not work form the start. No help from Acer or ATI. Startup sequence: I get basic post test to monitor (ram check and p+p detection) then screen goes blank. No error beep for monitor and power light on monitor remains green. When windows finishes loading (at point where wallpaper is loaded) screen displays normally. One final observation, when machine starts up (or reboots) I get “no signal” display on monitor then a blank screen. Then what appears to be a glitch in the display, like it is changing the resolution, they the begining of the post test displays. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.
