Acessing secure sites with IE 6

I am having trouble with a non-networked computer acess secure sites. Teh computer is configured with Windows XP and Internet Explore 6.0. I have tried the obvious explorer user settings to no avial. Is there a regedit setting that would help rectify this problem?
