Activating my IR port (win9

By ezad ·
I am trying to enable my IR port on my NEC Versa Note running WIN98. When trying to install it keep asking me this file irmonhlp.exe which is nowhere to be found in the WIN98 CD or the driver s/w disk. Any clue where can I get this file?

The only thing I can associate this file with is a Infrared Monitor Help file.To locate this file try using the utility System File Checker located @ Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Information. After opening System Info-select the System File Checker.
Also try installing New Hardware thru Control Panel.Good Luck

You can try the Extract command. Look for any files that end with ".cab" on your driver or Win98 disks. Open a DOS window. Type a command like below to see a listing of the contents of the cab file (cabs are like zip files):

extract /d c:\windows\system\mini.cab |more

Type EXTRACT /? to get help with the command.
