Active Directory and drive mapping via v

I have just finished my migration of user workstations and laptops to an AD OU. The issue I see now is that under the new Domain structure some users can’t map network shares on the network after the migration. All systems are running Windows 2000 SP3. I understand that under AD the authenication used is a kereboros authenication which could be causing the issue. Any have any ideas how to possibly fix this issue asside from the reg hack Microsoft recommends?
