Active Directory Contact

When I go to create a contact in active directory and put an e-mail address with it. It ask me for a type for the email address is that referring to 25 for smtp or 110 for pop3. A little direction on this matter would be great thanks.

Active Directory is asking is the user recieving email via SMTP or POP3. this is so that it can know which protocol and port to send the mail to that user's mailbox.

You may need to contact the external contact's administrator to see how they recieve mail.

So do I need to specify the port or the name of the port?
