Active directory installation error

when I try to install active directory on my standalone server it goes smooth until the last stage and then comes with the error THE NETWORK LOCATION CAN NOT BE REACHED Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

To install active directory (even in a test environment) you need to have a NIC installed and have it actively connected to something. If the Network Connection shows are cable disconnected, then AD will not install.

Sorry, didnt really finish my though. If you have a hub, or another computer, simply plug it into that, you your server thinks it has a connection of some type.

First check Microsoft's Article I Q271750

Just today I had this same exact problem, I however checked the cables and know everything is connected (can ping all over the place).

When you find an answer I would be interested in knowing. Will post if I find.
