Active directory on home network

Heres a brief overview of my situation.

I’m trying to learn AD..

On a partition of my computer I created a domain on server 2003. I then used virtual pc to create two clients.

Now on my normal partition I connect to my router using dhcp. The IP address(gateway) for my router is 192.168.1.1

I set up DNS on my Active directory. My statically assigned IP address and my dns are both 10.1.1.1 Now when I use “nslookup anthony.local” on the command prompt it does point to my server and the 10.1.1.1.

I configured my two clients with other addresses on the 10.1.1.x subnet. And they all see eachother.

I’m able to replicate my AD to a client on virtual PC so im pretty sure I did it all right. But I need to be able to get online..

What am I missing? Or what would be as more easier way for me to set this up, and at the same time still learn how to configure AD?
