Active Directory Replication

By pginnega ·
I know Active Directory can be replicated between sites. My question is, How is this replication done? Is it done in Administrative tools on a DC? also is this replication done on a preconfigured interval, or dose the replication get forced from a administrator? Help.

You configure replication through AD Sites and Services. Replication is managed by the Site Links. The minimum replication interval is 15 minutes. It can be scheduled to happen when desired. Replication is done through either RPC (within or across domains) or SMTP (only across domains). Although MS recommends not to use SMTP (yet).
