ActiveX - Cannot display Page

By artnewman10705 ·
when I go to some sites a message appears: "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX control on this page. As a result, the page may not display."

click ok
then another message appears: Cannot display this page.

I'm at IE5.0.When I try to upgrade to 6.0 it gives me the same above messages.

My security level is at Medium. I stop my anitvirus. I also followed article Q243787 from the Micorsoft site. Nothing seems to work to clear this problem. Does anyone know how I may alleviate this problem.

This could also be an indication that your browser is not set to accept cookies, enable Active-X or run Java applets (one or
all of the previous). You states that your security is set to 'medium' You can also clear out the 'cookie' information. Gointo the\windows\occache\ directory using Explorer and right click on each item. When the dialog comes up, select "Remove", thus removing all the items in the directory (you can't be sure which one might be the problem). These are the ActiveX controls and they will be re-downloaded when you connect to the page that uses them.

hAD THIS MYSELF FOUND IF YOU GOTO THE IE OPTIONS UNDER TOOLS AND SELECT SECURITY THEN SET TO LOW AND GO TO CUSTOM AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ENABLED ANY ACTIVE X SETTINGS YOU SHOULD BE OK.
