ActiveX errors - bad install of IE
WinNT 4, IE6
A customer is receiving the error:
"ActiveX components in this page may make this page display incorrectly" on any page with ActiveX and Flash elements.
-ActiveX settings are default for Internet and Intranet.
-Internet Explorer was repaired through Add/Remove Programs, but during the repair the following errors occured:
An error had occured while setting up "C:\winnt\system32\asctrls.ocx." This error has been logged, the installation will continue.
An error had occured while setting up "C:\winnt\system32\dxtrans.dll." This error has been logged, the installation will continue.
I uninstalled all IE patches, rolled the PC back from IE6 to IE5.5, rebooted, installed IE6, but during the install I received the same two errors as above.
I cannot see any conspicuous apps on the PC.
The ActiveX error remains.
What can I do? Your help is appreciated.
