AD Nighmares

For no apparent reason I could no longer log into the ad and modify users, after much ado I dcpromo and demoted to workgroup. Restarted the machine and depromo to same domain, now the problems really start, most of the win98 machines still attach and work, the w2k and xp machines with joining a workgroup the domain again and moving profiles now work but still get two errors in log 1000 & 1001. Tryed everything in the support site and still issues… Any suggestions sort of a reload?
