AD REPLICATION TROUGH VPN

By REZUMA ·
HI, i have 2 offices connected via VPN. My problem is that when i created a user in washington DC (1 office) it doesnt replicated to the domain controller in NY. The master catalog is in NY, everything else replicate fine, i have use the AD replication monitor and it tells me that the replication is happening sucessfully.

Also, i have a OU for testing, i have created a GPO for that OU, i have created a testing user that i put on that OU, whenever i loggin using that test user the GPO is not applied at all. OF course that users that's no synchronize to NY.

Anybody has a similar issue where users dont get repliated and the most important where GPO are not being applied"??

Thanks

humm inter-site replication happens about every 3 hours. The other drawback to inter-site replication is that you've got to create it and then configure it in Active Directory Sites and Services.

How long did you wait? or did you try to force the replication?

Change your replication protocol from IP to SMTP. SMTP is far more reliable with regards to a situation like this one. Additionally make sure the appropriate subnets are configured for the two seperate sites (Sites and Services MMC. Both of these two changes should improve your replication immensely.

By the way AD replicates every 15 minutes. Period.. both within a site and site to site.
