I have a system that I upgraded to Windows 2000 from NT 4.0 sp5. This system has a cd-writer that uses Adaptec easy cdcreator. Unfortunately the software we have is only for 98/NT. I found an upgrade for the software to a version that is compatable with windows 2000 on my pc manufacturer’s website. Here is the problem: I have to install the original software and reboot in order for the upgrade version to recognize that the software is installed. However upon rebooting, the system crashes and you can only get into recovery mode. I’ve tried just installing the software and then the upgrade, but the upgrade won’t see the software in this case. Has anyone had any experiences like this? Thanks for any and all suggestions.
