Add a second Exchange Server

I have a customer who’s Exchange 2003 Std SP2 is approaching the 75GB limit. Rather than upgrading to Enterprise edition or migrating to Exchange 2007, we are looking at adding another Exchange 2003 Std server and spliting the mail boxes accros the two servers. Would this work?
