Add internet mail address

By kennyf ·
I have a exchange5.5 server. My office97 runs well with it. After upgrading to office2k, I still can send or receive mail via internet. However, when I open microsoft outlook2k and choose "tools->personal address book" to add a new address, I can only choose "other address" and "personal address list". No "internet address" that I can choose. Any solutions?

Add internet mail address

by SteveD In reply to Add internet mail address

Gee, my version of Outlook 2000 doesn't allow me to use a Personal Address Book (.pab) any more. In fact if I remember correctly, it required me to import my existing .pab into my Contacts folder if I wanted to keep using those records.

Is your Contacts folder set up to function as an address book? Right click on Contacts in the folder list and select Properties. Select the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book." (By the way, you can dothis with public folders that hold contact items too, letting you establish a company address book.)

Then, when you select "Tools/Address Book," one of the books you can choose from will be your Contacts. And in an individual Contact item, you should be able to enter any type of email address. (Again, my Tools menu doesn't have a Personal Address Book item; it only has Address Book. I'm not sure what's different about your configuration.)

I hope this helps.
