Add Network printer at first login

Does anyone know of a script that will add a network printer housed on a print server to a client when they log in to the domain for the first time?

Have you tried using logon scripts? MS has an example VBS here:

that you can set to automatically run when a client logs on.

Hi there,
I would recommend using a LOGIN script to do this. It's easier to manage so if you need to add or delete printers, you do it all from one central location instead and it takes effort next time the user logs in.

I would recommend using either the con2prt.exe or the KIX ADDPRINTER command to do the printer mapping. If you want some examples on how to do this, I've written about it here: and also here:
