Add New Hardware Message

Installed a printer under Administrator login on Windows 2000. When I login as the main user of the PC, add new hardware message appears.

Have reinstalled with no success. Deleted printer values out of registry and printer dll's off PC, reinstalled and still no success?

Any suggestions please?

A couple of things to look at:

1) Some HP drivers require that they be installed for each user. There is no way to get around this.

2) When you install some drivers you are asked if they are for the current user or all users. If so, choose allusers.

3) If this is your pc, as the "main user" do you have Administrator privleges? If not, add yourself to the Administrator's group.

4) If, as the "main user", you are asked to install new hardware can you install it? If so, go ahead and do it.

Enjoy,
