I'm running WinXP pro and I have a program that I can't remove from the add and remove programs window. Is there a work around for this??

Try one of the following.

1). Install the program again. Sometimes this will fix any error of the current program. You can then remove or uninstall it.

2) If this does not work, you have to use Registry Editor.

NOTE: Editing the registry isrisky, so make sure you have a verified backup before saving any changes.

Start | Run and type ?regedit? without the quotes.

Go to Hkey_Local_Machine | Software | Microsoft | Windows | CurrentVersion | Uninstall
Highlight the program you want to remove and hit the Delete key and OK.

This will remove the program list from the Add or Remove Programs from the Control Panel.

To completely remove the program from the Windows and if you feel comfortable editing Registry, highlight My Computer (in the Registry) and then Edit | Find and program name you want to remove in the Find what box and delete every reference of Keys, Values, and Data.

Many programs do not use Windows un-installer.

Start by looking at the programs listing on the start menu for an un-install.

Next, try using the CD itself. Often, there is an un-install option as part of the installer.

Then, you can try a 3rd party un-installer.
I believe that there are a few free-ware programs listed at www.nonags.com

If the uninstall routine is unable to remove files associated with the program, you will needto it manually
Reboot computer, open Windows Explorer, locate the programs folder (usually within C:\Program Files)and delete its contents
