By CirceD ·
What would cause the APPWIZ to stop working in Windows 2000? is there a fix besides a complete reinstall?

It might be missing or damaged, so...

Go to the command prompt, and at the command prompt: type REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL (to fix). If that doesn't work try the following:

Check to see if the APPWIZ.CPL component is missing. If it is, try running SFC (System File Checker) with the /SCANNOW option (i.e., type SFC /SCANNOW). You may be asked to provide the Windows 2000 CD-ROM.

Good luck!
