To install a sound card, you will have to disable the onboard sound for the card to work

Boot computer and when the Startup screen appears, press the designated key to enter Setup(located in lower left corner),in the Bios configuration panel, locatethe on board sound, navigate to sound configuration, select and press Enter, this should provide screen to disable onboard sound, exit and save changes

Reboot

Install the sound card and and when you reboot it should be detected by New Hardware Found, insert disk to install software drivers, connect the cd-rom cable to soundcard during before closing case in order to listen to Audio CD's
