Adding a new work station

By d_a_ponce ·
Just added a new workstation to a LAN, but when I try to connect via outlook to synchronize files and e-mails from the exchange server is telling me that is "experiencing network problems please contact admin".

Now, the LAN is located in NYC and the exchange server is located in London. This company uses an ISDN router to connect to the server.

I have checked User Name and Domain Name. Both are valid. So, why would I still be experiencing this problem?

May be only how the phone company is providing sevice,in which type of protocol the phone company is providing,it may be that the network to international at the time was being set for less moderate use.

Are you using IP to connect. If so so you have a valid IP address.

Outlook has a bad habit of timing out on name resolution. I'm not sure if this is what is happening without having more exact info about your configuration. You could try putting a HOSTS file on the workstation that points to your Exchange server, and if the problem is name resolution this will solve it. Hope this helps!

The new workstation might not be able to resolve the name resolution of the exchange server. So, you can check your DNS/WINS Server or your local HOSTS/LMHOSTS file.

If you've done as above mentioned but still the same error then next thing you should check is your default gateway. Try to ping your localhost - ping your local router - ping your remote router.

Let me know.
