Adding Access to a Menu

By djpinson ·
I have created a form in access and I would like others in my group to be able to access it for data entry.

How can I add it to a menu were they can access it also and will we be able to share?

Adding Access to a Menu

There are a few questions that come to mind to be able to give you a viable answer.

1. Do the others in the group have the same version of Access as you do, otherwise it may prompt to convert to the newest version of Access and deny editing if you do not convert it.

2. Is the form in a shared database (network or your computer)or in a new database?

Shared - If you have Switch-board manager you can add a switch board item to open the form.

New Database - you will have to put it whereothers have access to the database and let them know where it is. To assist them you can build a short-cut on the desktop to the .MDB file which will also open Access.

Yes you will be able to share, as long as you open the file in Access, click on the tools on the menu bar, goto security, user and groups permissions, then ensure all users and groups have access to read, update, insert, and delete data.

Good Luck!
