By sknowd ·
I have just installed a windows 2000 server on my home network, and have setupa DNS with a domain name of homeoffice.local as I do not have a registered domain name. I want to use the dns servers from my ISP to resolve external IP addresses, How doI add these external dns references, and how do i add an interet cache to the DNS

If you still have a need to use your ISP's DNS,
You can put "forwarders" in the DSN Server properties.
Under DNS snap-in, right-click on your server, goto properties, click on forwarders, enable forwarders, and input your ISP's DNS ip
addresss(s)
-You may also want to load support tools from the server CD, once support tools are loaded run netdiag /fix from a command prompt, this will fix minor DNS issues, and insure that your DNS is functioning prperly.
Hope it helps!
