Adding Folders to the Save In Window

    Locked

    by ggman66 ·

My users are running Win00 with Office00 when they go to file/save something in Office or any other application there is a window to the left with folder in it (History, Desktop, MyDocuments.etc) How do you add your own folder to that window?

    Thanks,
    G.

There should be a button showing a folder icon with a starburst on the upper-right corner. Click and give the folder a name (just overtype the name “New Folder” when it’s highlighted).

I want to add a folder in the window to the left. There are 5 folders in the window (History, Desktop, MyDocuments, My Computer, and My Network) I want to know how to add My own folder to that window.

I understand the question, but here’s another answer you might not have wanted…
If it’s just one specific directory you want there you could set the default directory opened from Tools | Options | File Locations, then change the Documents setting.

      Hope this DOES help.

The buttons themselves appear hard-coded. You CAN, however, put a shortcut to wherever you want in your Personal or Favorites or Desktop folders, all of which are in your profile directory, and thus individual by user. The user could click the toolbar Personal button, for example, and be presented with a list of his preferred folders. A double-click on the desired folder takes him there.

      Hello,

You can add your own shortcuts to the left side of the ‘Open’ dialog box.
For more details, see page 27 of the November 2000 issue of ‘PC World’. The column is ‘Answer line’ and the item is ‘Customise the Open Dialog Place Bar in OFFICE 2000’. Author is contributing editor Lincoln Spector.

I am not sure but you may be able to access it on the http://www.pcworld.com.

Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
