Adding to power users

By NatCat ·
Is it possible to add someone to the power users group of a machine without physically being at the machine ?
Like adding them via a GPO or something of that nature ?

Adding to power users

Sure is.

Assuming you are using Win2k, right click my computer, go to manage.

Under the action menu, select connect to another computer and type in the name of the computer you want to connect to (or browse to it).

Once it connects, you will have the management console for that computer where you can make the changes required.

Hope that helps!

Another way is via the Net User command. I sometimes prefer this method. See KB 251394 for details.
